Abdominoplasty procedure

The abdominoplasty procedure differs on the type of abdominoplasty. Abdominoplasty takes place on average 2 hours, the length of the surgery depends on the scale of the operation. When using the additional tummy tuck liposuction, the abdominoplasty can takes place even 3 hours. The abdominoplasty is always done under the general anesthesia.

Abdominoplastyprocedure is different

The abdominoplasty has different processes depending on the professional assessment of a plastic surgeon, the suitability of a surgeon for a patient and some other factors.

The abdominoplasty procedure is different in such cases:

  • The abdominoplasty procedure during the complete abdominoplasty
  • The abdominoplasty procedure during the miniabdominoplasty
  • The abdominoplasty procedure during the modified abdominoplasty

The abdominoplasty procedure during the complete abdominoplasty

The complete abdominoplasty includes the tummy tuck liposuction which is made before the main incision in the abdomen. Suction pipe is injected into the place of future scar, from where the excess fat is sucked. The circular incision in the part of a bellybutton ensures free movement of an umbilical scar, the excess fat is reduced as well as the skin in the lower belly.

Adjustment of belly muscles

If necessary, the belly muscles can be separated from the abdominal wall, tightened to the ribs and lifted. By this, straight abdominal muscles are uncovered, then they can be tightened together and sewed into the new position. This procedure makes the abdominal wall stronger and the waist thinner.

Final phase

The surplus skin is drawn down and reduced. The new bellybutton is created by making a hole in the skin in which the new bellybutton is fixed by creating stitches. The operated blow is closed in several layers, for all this the absorbable sutures are used the most often. The future scar is then having a shape of letter T.

The abdominoplasty procedure during the miniabdominoplasty

The miniabdominoplasty requires just a tiny incision in the part of lower abdomen without any other vertical incisions or incisions around the bellybutton. The bellybutton takes the same place because the intervention into the abdomen is really tiny. The length of the operation is around one hour.

Miniabdominoplasty and its result

Miniabdominoplasty enables to straighten the muscles in the lower part of the abdomen, the final scar is about 5-10cm long and it has an elliptical shape. The whole surgery is done endoscopically, thereby avoiding another unwanted scars. Just some tiny incisions made by endoscopy are remaining. And it is the same in case of upside-down abdominoplasty.

The abdominoplasty procedure during the modified abdominoplasty

The modified abdominoplasty is not as sophisticated as the complete abdominoplasty. It is done in case of excess fat in the abdomen part which doesn’t include the fat on the hips and sides of the abdomen. The shorter incision is made in the lower part of an abdomen, accompanied by a small incision in the part of a bellybutton. Thus made abdominoplasty allows the patient to wear two-part swimsuit without worries.

Result of the modified abdominoplasty

The result of this method is the strengthening the released abdominal wall in the part of the bellybutton. The scar is 10-15cm long in this case. Such kind of operation is ideal for patient with released abdominal wall and sagging skin in the abdominal part of the belly.
